Top Reasons To Consider An A-Frame Metal Carport Vs. A Flat-Top Metal Carport

There are many reasons why you could be thinking about investing in a metal carport. You might like the fact that they are affordable, versatile and designed to help shield your vehicle from the elements, for example. However, one thing that you could be unsure of is what type of metal carport you should choose. For example, you might have seen metal carports with flat tops and A-frames, and you could be wondering which one is best. These are a couple of the top reasons why A-frame metal carports can be the better choice.

Avoid Having to Clean the Top as Often

First of all, many people choose metal carports because they are virtually maintenance free and can last a long time with minimal work. However, you will probably need to clean the top of the carport off regularly, particularly if you have trees in your yard since limbs and leaves can fall on top of the carport. 

With a flat-top carport, this can be a much more frequent job, since any limbs, leaves, or other debris that might fall on top of the roof will probably just stay there. If you choose a metal carport that has an A-frame roof, on the other hand, debris can slide off of the roof more easily. Even though you might still have to clean the top of it sometimes, you probably will not have to clean it as often as you would if you had a flat-top carport.

Enjoy a Little More Vertical Space

Another good thing about A-frame metal carports is the fact that they generally give you more vertical space than carports that have flat roofs. For example, if you have a taller vehicle, you might find that having the extra space is a good thing. Just make sure that you take measurements of your vehicle and that you choose a carport that is going to be tall enough, whether you choose one that has an A-frame or a flat top.

As you can probably see, flat-top metal carports aren't always the best choice, even though they can be a good choice for many uses as well. Instead, you may want to consider investing in an A-frame metal carport for these reasons and more.
